Islamic Dreams Explained: Complete Guide & Meaning
“A true Islamic dream can become a beacon of light, guiding your faith”
π Islamic Dreams and Interpretation
We all know that sometimes dreams have a disturbing effect and we wake wondering what it was all and how it is going to be.
A true Islamic dream can become a beacon of light, guiding your faith, giving you direction and help to prepare for the future on what is coming your way.
Islamic dream interpretation can help you understand how dreams can influence and impact you.

Muslim Person Dream
The dream of a Muslim person is more truthful than the dream of the disbelievers. Likewise, the dream of a wise person is better than the dream of the ignorant.
The dream of the righteous and truthful person is better than the dream of wicked and lair. The dream of an old person is more truthful than the dream of women or children.
The Dream Interpreter
The dream interpreter should access the good qualities in a person’s dream. When an interpreter asks the person about his or her dream and hears the scattered words, he should correct them with the help of reason. Then correct the precedence and delay of the words, and then interpret them, and keep the stronger words in mind.
π Quran and Reality of Dreams Islamic Interpretation
Are dreams real? Are dreams a sign?
βO Joseph, thus will your Lord choose you and grant you the knowledge of interpreting dreams.β (Quran 4:101)
In this verse, Joseph (A.S) has been promised the knowledge of interpreting dreams. Then this promise was fulfilled.
That is, Prophet Joseph (peace be upon him) himself acknowledges this.
βProphet Joseph (A.S) telling his fellow prisoners he can interpret their dreams and that this knowledge comes from his Lord.β (Quran 12:37)
Can Dreams Predict The Future?
During the days when Prophet Joseph was imprisoned for not fulfilling Zulaykhaβs sexual desire, two prisoners were brought to the same prison. Both of them had dreams in prison. Therefore, this verse mentions the dreams of both of them (Quran 12:36).
Prophet Joseph gave an exact interpretation of their dreams and what is going to happen in the coming days (Quran12:36-42).
This clearly shows that “Dreams are sign, real and predicts the future”.
For Muslims and believers, dreams give you information about the future.
Dream Interpretation Skills and Knowledge
Allah Almighty mentions dreams among His rewards. It’s mention in the Divine Gifts is a clear proof that the knowledge of dream interpretation is a very superior and high knowledge.
π Islamic Dream Meaning and Interpretation
Can Dreams Come True?
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) saw a dream which Allah Himself confirms. In the Quran, Allah says.
“The Almighty made the dream of His Messenger (A.S) come true” (Quran 17:60).
Allah has confirmed the dream of Prophet Muhammad (A.S) and it proves that dreams are a very mysterious thing. It is obvious who can argue with the superiority of what the Prophets were blessed with as a gift and which Allah Almighty also declared correct.
We can see through the Quran that “Dreams predict the future” and “Dreams come true”.
Prophet Joseph (AS) and Prophet Muhammad (AS) dreams confirm both facts.

πMuhammad ibn Sirin (RA) – Master Interpreter
Muhammad ibn Sirin (RA) processed extraordinary essences in dream interpretation. The literature on Islamic dream interpretation highlights that it was a common practice in the Islamic world during his lifetime that when a person saw a dream, which the scholars and pious people of that time were unable to interpret, they would eventually turn to him.
His interpretation would give a perfect Islamic dream explanation and exact dream outcome happens. During that time, on the dream interpretation, his influence became apparent, even the great scholars of the time would praise his insight.
πManners and Conditions of the Interpreter
The difference between the science of dream interpretation and other science is that a student of knowledge cannot go against the principles of this science and its inferences are not interpretable.
The knowledge of dream interpretation is so delicate that its principles do remain fixed at one state. The reason for this change is that people’s circumstances keep on changing due to character, appearance, courage and likeness over time.
Interpretation has to be done with origin and form as well as sometimes, it has to be done with contradiction. The reason for that is sometimes the dream is correct and sometimes incorrect.
This proves that dream interpretation knowledge is delicate and subtle and it is the conscience of the soul that this is what happens to be delicate, high and excellent.
